Perennial to 5'. Butterflies. Plant in full sun, however mine do nicely with an average of 3 to 4 hours of sunlight.. Height 36-60 inches with a spread to 18 inches. This depends on exposure to sunlight and the species you grow. Blooms profusely from early summer to early fall. Removing spent blooms will increase bloom time. Late in the summer I let my plants go to seed. The Goldfinches enjoy them. Easily divided in late summer (August). Pests don't seem to bother this plant in my garden. Has a sweet honey like scent that also attracts bees. Zones 3-9. |

I divide mine at least every three years in late summer (August) to keep them healthy. Bloomtime is late summer to mid fall. This is the familiar "Blackeyed Susan" Zones 4-9. |

Perennial to 4'. Butterflies. Plant in part shade to full sun. The color is a mauve purple, or white, and they open from top of stalk down, which makes this an unusual plant for your garden. Height is from 24 inches to 48 inches and the spread is from 12 inches to 18 inches. Plants are easily divided in early fall. Care is easy to none. Zones 5-9. |

Perennial to 28". Butterflies. Plant in part sun to full shade. Beautiful indigo blue flowers. Height is 18 to 24 inches and a spread of 12 to 18 inches. Bloom time mid summer to mid fall. Easily divided after blooming. Cut back spent stocks to encourage more blooming. Easy care plant with no pests that I know of in my garden. Zones 3-10. |

Perennial to 42". Part shade to full sun. Blooms mid-June to mid-August. Lemon Yellow with a delicious fragrance. Height to 42" with a spread to 36". Easily divided. This is a favorite in my garden. Zones 3-9. |

Perennial to 2'. Butterflies. Favorite as a host plant to the Monarch Bufferfly Caterpillar. Does best in full sun, but it will tolerate part shade as it does in my garden. This is one of the last perennials to break the soil surface in the spring, so be careful when cultivating your soil before these plants emerge. Height to 24" with a spread of 15". Zones 3-9. |

Not usually bothered by disease or insects. Cut back hard after flowering for a later, lesser flowering. Zones 3-8. |

The red varieties attract hummingbirds, but there are many colors to choose from including lavenders and pinks. The unique flowers are appealing to humans as well, and always spark questions from admirers. Mint scented and hardy. Divide every two years to keep them perfect. Prevent powdery mildew by allowing for good air cirrculation between plants, and avoit wetting foilage when watering. Zones 3-9. |

A drarf, arching, spreading, shrub with beautiful purple, fragrant flowers. A wonderful accent plant for the perennial border. Blooms all summer long. Remove old flowers to encourage more bloom. Watch for spider mites. Hummingbird Moths frequent this plant. Zones 5-9. |
